His range is well known, he's never made one beyond 38 yards.

You've seen every kick in every practice, game or scrimmage the kid has ever played in?  

If the answer is yes, then I'll stop.  If the answer is no, then you have absolutely no idea what the **** you're talking about.

We outplayed them in all phases except kicking...we absolutely should have won that game...this isn't on coaching...it just isn't
