His arm strength is a liability when playing average teams or better. He is a quality back up, but the priority needs to be landing a better starting QB. Develop him. We do not have any better recruits and no one that is challenging him for the job. If our receivers were better he would look great. How many dropped balls that could have gotten key first downs or even better touchdowns have we seen? Is his arm strength that much worse than Flowers or Grothe? Build an average to above average O-Line and we will see Flowers like numbers.

He has to be smarter with not giving the other team the ball. Flowers was great at not giving the other team dumb interceptions. If that improves he will be fine. That can improve (hopefully). If not, yikes. Otherwise, it's on the job training which is the best kind. I've seen him hit guys in stride which led to extra yardage. I'm not sure you need the mega arm to win. He's hit deep enough passes and had huge plays. Just needs to stop throwing INTs.

Good luck with that, for all the reasons you ***** and moan about in thread after thread, week after week.

I know you're butt hurt because the football program isn't achieving your lofty expectations but join everyone else in reality. My understanding is that two QBs have committed for next year. Don’t know a lot here but I believe one is one of those fancy mobile QBs that also has an arm.
