Arm strength is sub par...

Barnett has a much bigger arm, but can you live with McCloud's arm strength.  I mean he can still get the ball down the field right.

Simple topic.  Is McCloud the long term 4 year starter answer at QB.  Or is he not.  Or is it still undecided.  We know Barnett is not the answer, he graduates this year anyway.

Is USF set at QB for the long term future w/McCloud?  Yes or no.  What do you need to see to convince you of your answer?

He’s the next Teddy Bridgewater and CKB is head coach in waiting

Sub question is, will McCloud save Strong's job the way Flowers saved Taggart's.

I am slightly concerned about his deep ball arm strength.  Flowers had a weird elongated throw, but he had a cannon and could get the ball down the field.  This is still up in the air w/McCloud until we see a few more completed deep passes.

For a rs freshman I've been pretty pleased...still need to see how the rest of the season plays out...but it has been promising...

If he can protect the football a little better he'll be fine. At least two of his interceptions the last two games were avoidable freshman mistakes.

He's very mobile and that's exactly what we need.

Best we have, should be constantly looking for someone better but until then he is our guy.  He is elusive which is a necessity with this line, has good instincts however plays like a freshman and makes a ton of mistakes, arm strength so so.

He’s deserving of PT, that’s for sure. I’m skeptical that he’s “the guy”,  but we could do worse at the position for sure.

Both of his INT’s were very bad though

He has the potential to be. He is dynamic and opens up the offense, he can hit the short and intermediate throws well, and is accurate on the long ball but so far has either put too much air under it or has thrown into triple coverage.

He is a freshman in a new offense. If we see some growth throughout the rest of the year I definitely could see him being the guy for the next few years.

But if we go 2-10 - 4-8 (which is very much a possibility), nobody's job is safe.

He has to have better numbers than these to make me feel better about him being the guy long term. Hope he can be though.

Unless you know we have something big coming in, he is our guy. He broke out of two sacks today and made positive yards. The key will be can he learn from his mistakes?
