This new red-shirt and transfer rule is going to ruin football for G5 schools.

So he quit the season with Houston to preserve his ability to play one more year somewhere else - and made the head coach look silly in the process.  Wonder what lesson was learned here.  It may be "fair" to the athletes, but you can be sure programs in the future will try to figure out a way to keep this from happening again.

Pull the scholarship (if that isn't what they did)?

Timed it perfectly for the start of the semester. Can’t pull it now.

I'm thinking pull it when he announces that he isn't going to play if not injured. But of course it would be hard to prove a guy is healthy enough to play when he says he's hurt.

No...he got to eat, sleep, go to school, and use the football facilities for free.

I don't see the problem with it. This is all about money. The schools and the coaches seem to be making boat loads of it so what is the issue.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
