The fact still remain that in a decade he created USF Football and shot us up into the BCS world in a g-d like fashion, only to fly too close to the sun for mortals and have his wings melt. Since he has been gone we have faced nothing but toil and struggle as our coaching is in constant flux, our winning percentage plummeted along with our competition and there was a mass exodus of fans. CJL is the alpha and the omega of USF Football, he is the beginning and the end and there is a special place in depths of Dante's inferno for those that decided to destroy our program because they thought he wasn't nice enough to them or that he had plateaued in the top 25 and in the big leagues (oh to one day reach that plateau again). To deny it requires ignoring the start of every single program in college football history as well as what has happened to our program since his departure. I think most do acknowledge what CJL actually did accomplish here, although nothing short of a miracle may be a tad over stated. The big difference comes in that a lot also don't believe that things would be terribly different in the overall grand scheme of things if he wasn't run off.... maybe some elusive conf championships ...... that you wouldn't acknowledge because we'd still be in this ******** of a conference.
