They did make it to a Fiesta Bowl, and from there went downhill in football and have yet to recover. Their men's hoops managed to string together a remarkable run in 2014 to win it all and then has mired being so-so for a few years and doesn't seem to carry the clout that being in the Big East used to. Their women's hoops lives in a void (and helps that there's basically like 20-25 schools that are any good and the rest are garbage). There are fans there that actually want to step back from the American to trade places with someone in the C-USA or MAC or some crazy FCS/Patriot leagues in order to get hoops back into the Big East. So if you think USF fans have given up, could always be worse.

FYI, their reward is to play WMU in the Potato Bowl. So our situation is not ideal but l would say their situation is worse. BYU being awarded a Natty is total garbage. Not fair at all to have 26 year old men playing football against 19-year-olds.

Back in the 80s when UM won a few national championships, a large number of people wanted to go to UM just because of that. One year their dorms were so overfilled that they housed students in a near by hotel. 1 hour ago, puc86 said: The Texas State University Fighting Armadillos, I was a huge fan of their kicker. 1 hour ago, puc86 said: And that I would trade my wife for...
