So that they could conceivably have two full years going undefeated and back to back major bowl games? If they go undefeated and we beat them it’s of no more consequence than had they lost games along the way but if they go undefeated and we lose to them LRS will be spinning in his grave from how badly we mismanaged his program since his passing. Leroy Selmons the restaurant had better strategy and execution and it’s plan involved closing.

Yes?

No, it's 42.

Better to sit on your couch and envision two teams playing for all the marbles on that side on Black Friday.  60K strong in an electric atmosphere under 78 degree cloudless skies and USF wins on the final play.  How great would that be for our program.

Go Bulls!

This. I not saying anybody should go out and buy UCF pom poms, but why not wish for a game that would get some National attention, have a GREAT atmosphere, and would be a potential big step in locking down the NY6 bid. Who wouldn't want the program to have that kind of spotlight??

Ucif is now circled on some of our fans calendars as a marquee game that we hope can save fledgling attendance, I don’t know how much clearer it can be that they need to lose every game from now until eternity.

Always one in the bunch.

It's circled not in order to save fledgling attendance, but because MOST rational people agree that we would have to be a package deal to get out of this conference.

This is why I find hilarious that you cry so much about the state of this conference, but you also are in favor of UCF losing every game even though a strong USF and UCF together are what is likely needed to either become a true P6 or get out of this conference - one of these days.

Your stances are contradictory in this case, and the funny thing is you don't seem to see it, and you seem like a bright guy.  You just can't live in a fantasy world and have it both ways.  I hate UCF as much as the next Bull but I also live in reality.

When I see the first instance of any teams being brought into expansion as a package deal or I read anything about any university presidents interested in the idea then I may consider changing my position. To date it seems far more likely that if a conference were to expand they would select USF or UCF and not both of us. In this instance I would prefer for USF to be the clear cut favorite and therefore cheering for their exclusive success is completely consistent. Do you honestly believe if a conference decided to expand and they believed USF to be the best option that they would then look to UCF and say, “too bad we can’t have both of them let’s move on to the next pair.”? Every single expansion has involved individual teams and this notion of expansion together is nothing more than silly internet fodder that has no root in what has actually happened during expansion.

It would be smart though to bring in an instant rivalry.  It seems like a smart investment long term.

Except the whole no one has ever once done it or even discussed the possibility of doing it thing. Bringing in USF or UCF into your conference is going to be a tough sell, bringing in both of them is the type of leap of faith that gets you fired far more often than is the home run you are pitching. I am hardly risk adverse but if a university is this risk seeking they may as well invest their endowments in the lottery.

Not going to post too much on this because it been covered ad nauseum on this board, but it is all about the TV ratings.  Remember what one of the top games of 2017 was.  Funny you think that even in a hypothetical situation that USF would ever be considered on their own, especially considering our attendance, if UCF was a bad team.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
