I’m surprised no one has mentioned Publix chicken tender subs.

Sorry, eating in a pretentious dungeon to eat decent food that is ridiculously overpriced is pretty much the definition of overrated. People go there just to act like big shots.

Overpriced?  Not at all when you consider they throw in the salad, soup, potato and veggie.  Food is very good.  Charlies is excellent as well.  More of a wood taste to the Charlies stuff.  Bern's wine list is 2nd to none. Charlie's wine list has frustrated me 2 of the last 3 times. Asked for a bottle then waited 15 minutes to learn they don't have it.  I'm not a techie but I imagine it wouldn't be real hard to have your wine list on tablets with inventory updated on the fly. Either that or buy enough of what you have on the list.

Too many to name.  Council Oaks bar at the Hard Rock is superb.

I'll give you the wine part. Can't argue with the biggest wine cellar in the world. Food is meh ...

El Puerto in ybor is way better and a fraction of the price.

Forty-some years ago, my big brother was in town for a visit so we all went to Bern's. When he ordered a $200 bottle of wine ($600 today after inflation), I nearly pooped my pants!

No way some spoiled grape juice could be worth that kind of money, LOL

Quick Berns story. Some wino friends from Michigan were in town so we went to Berns. Told him to pick the wines since he knew what he was doing (he was into French wines at the time).  Choose two, both 1989s, an Haut Brion and something like a Chateau Contessa de LeLande.  When the check came he picked it up but both bottles were in the $300 - $400 ranges.  I was about to poop my pants. But if any wines are worth that kind of money they were.

Berns 16 ounce Ribeye comes with

soup

 salad

2 vegetables (unlimited, you just need to ask for more)

baked potato with all the fixings

for 47.90

Berns is the best priced high-end steakhouse period. The atmosphere might be a bit old fashioned, but considering what your complete dinner gives you compared to what the ala-cart price would be for all this food at Capitol Grill, Charley's or Ruth Chris to name a few, it's an outstanding bargain.

and the dessert options....
