I will be in town for the GT game and looking for recommendations on good restaurants in Tampa. We are staying in the SoHo area.  We already have reservations for Bern’s.  Also any good alternatives to Columbia?  Thanks for any help.

There is a good sushi plays called Deja Vu... they also sell clams but you may want to leave minors at home.

Sushi there?  Are you referring to the tuna?

La teresita & Soho sushi. Berns is overrated, a lot

I always preferred charley's steakhouse over berns. However I did have dinner there with W and Jeb back in 2001.

How far do you want to go? Seminole Heights is ground zero for good food these days.

Don’t mind Ubering 20 - 30 minutes away, thanks.

Beer - Coppertail

Steak - Charley's, Skin is right about Bern's, you pay for the experience

Sushi - SoHo and there's nothing even close, get a Red Dragon and thank me later

Other food - I can give you a list of Seminole Heights restaurants if you're interested, there's a ton of good stuff up here right now

About how far from SoHo area?  Definitely interested, thanks.

Bern’s overrated?  Food is excellent and the experience is second to none in the area, especially for a visitor.

Second the Seminole Heights recommendation, a lot of great choices there.

We love Bern’s...already have a reservation (3 months out), a family tradition for us. Thx

Sorry, eating in a pretentious dungeon to eat decent food that is ridiculously overpriced is pretty much the definition of overrated. People go there just to act like big shots.
