Really good guys but I will never forgive them for resurrecting Aerosmith.

I'll share a ridiculous Run DMC - Aerosmith story. My in-laws used to live down in Key Largo and I was there one weekend about 15 years ago visiting. We were drinking and goofing around in town and went down to some music and film festival being held in some random park on the water next to a marina. At the end of the festival, DMC is playing and we're like, "Nice... this is a little better than we anticipated." Then Walk This Way cranks up and out of nowhere, Steven Tyler walks onto the stage and they bang out the song. He waves to the crowd and walks out back, hops onto a boat and disappears. Festival over...thanks for coming out.

Bull Speed Ahead: Kelly Ready to Help USF Athletics Reach New Heights

TAMPA, JULY 2, 2018 – Just like the University of South Florida's persistent run to preeminence, USF Athletics is relentlessly trying to reach new levels of excellence in all aspects with a new leader who wants to boldly go "Bull speed ahead."

Fittingly, on the same day Judy Genshaft shared her excitement about the Bulls being the state's newest Preeminent State Research University, the USF System President also proudly introduced Michael Kelly as USF's new vice president of athletics to much fanfare last Friday.

27110Before a packed crowd at the Yuengling Center Fifth Third Bank Arena Club, Genshaft ran through a checklist of must-haves for the right person and reiterated USF's desire to "make no exceptions" in the hiring process. Requirements included a candidate being a "transformative leader who could take our already strong athletics program and elevate it to new heights," Genshaft said.

Positioning the Bulls for "even greater competition on a national stage," was important, as were other key factors like a leader who could run a successful business, a tireless fundraiser and someone with a high level of integrity.

He says all the right things, but as always, talk is cheap. Looking forward to watching him back up the talk with action.

I really want to like the "Bull Speed Ahead" moniker, but ever since "H***z New Era", I'm super wary of cutesy slogans.
