ESPN thinks we go 13-0!!!

No way we go undefeated. We lose 1 conference game we shouldn't (i.e. Temple last year) but still win our division.

Would love to see it, but... I will always expect undefeated seasons to be the rare exception, never the rule or expectation.

Even if we were left out of the CFP due to a weak schedule, 13-0 would be a historic season.

If we go 13-0, it will be against a schedule with maybe 5 teams that finish with a winning record. Can you see the playoff committee going, "USF is in. They have a win against 8-4 Houston and that win over #24 Tulsa in the conference championship game!"

I agree. It would be a heavy lift to get into the CFP, even with an undefeated year, given our schedule. 

But it sure would be fun to be good enough to where it's even an issue!

Absolutely. I'd be more than happy with 13-0, but I wouldn't be joining in the thread that's going to blow up on here over how we got snubbed.

What we need to do is go 13-0, then win the Peach Bowl. Then also go undefeated in 2018 with wins against GTech and Illinois. Who knows - at some point we *could* get some consideration, depending on who else in conference is doing well/getting ranked, and our margins of victory.

What if we pull GT vs. Cumberland-type scores over most of our opponents this year?

The only way I'd have a problem getting left out of the CFP is if we were undefeated and a 2 loss P5 team went in ahead of us.  That would bother me, especially if we looked good while doing it.
