Robd - The AD has nothing to do with this.  Leavitt has 100% control on hiring and firing assistants.

It's all about da Money!!! We didn't want to shell out the bucareenos for a high caliber OC like other schools do. We went with someone who knows the program. My only question is, is I hope Rod bones up on college plays and completely abandons the Hobbie playbook. If not, we are in for another long one!      Reaper

Understood, Omni, but if you were the AD, responsible for the overall success of the department, don't you think you would make sure CJL is fully committed to this hire?

When all is said and done, it is Woolard's watch.

In the end, the AD's involvement or lack of has little to do with this being very poor hire (if it turns out to be true).   :)

wait, maybe this was just released to gauge the public opinion, it only says likely and nothing about officially taking over....

Robd - My point is it's in Leavitt's contract that he has 100% control on hiring and firing.  Woolard could've made suggests but at the end of the day it's Leavitt's decision and it doesn't have to be in line with what Woolard suggested.

I am with CJL on this one, if this is who he feels is best for the position within the constraints that he faces then he has given the job to the best available, what more can he do?  Pluck money out of thin air to go and chase some highly regarded OC?
