Basically, his former coaches at Texas are all gone. Only Brian Jean-Mary and Jeff Traylor are available.

He demoted Vance Bedford and fired Chris Vaughn. I don't see him bringing these two to USF.

The Texas assistants make 4.5 Million. Judy will have to take  a step up if USF wants to attract these guys IMO

 

Current USF assistant pay, totals 1.9 Million. Gilbert makes 850K plus bonus.

If you look how the assistant pool is structured under Strongs contract you'll see where it takes a step back this year and a big step up next year and each subsequent year. It's believed that this is because Herman fired all assistants and their buyouts were structured like Strongs so we get them at a discounted rate year 1, just like we did with Strongs contract.

Strong wanted a larger assistant pool and took less money early on because of it.  It will rival P5 schools in a couple years, footnfan1.  Great sign that he really wants to build something long term here.
