USF Coverage and the local papers

Just found this article. Recommended reading for any Bull, especially to those that attended USF after we had a team.

You can't look at the Regents not wanting us having a program in isolation. UCF had started their program in 1979 or 1980 in D3 and struggled financially in trying to move up through the ranks. The Regents wanted to see a financial commitment so the program would not have the same financial difficulties.

I noticed how Tom Jones said that it isn't the TBT's job to play cheerleader for USF. Which may be true, except every single writer on the staff plays cheerleader for the Bucs and Lightning. Even when FSU and Florida get brought up, it isn't often that they are painted in a negative light. F him

Greg used to do a lot of things beyond just writing articles.  He maintained a Facebook page specifically for USF coverage (TB Times Usf -still there but derelict) and would always talk to fans at events.  He is really missed.

Not the Rays...that's seems all we hear about Ray's is bad attendance, especially when they were decent.

He was also covering the Bulls when the Times still had open comments on articles. When they changed that it absolutely killed the community aspect of it. In fact, that's how I needed up comping here.

My reference to snark & sarcasm was for 1) his normal behavior and B) his response to OP.
