Offensive Offense

This is the third game in a row where CWT keeps trying to run the offense on bubble screens and wide runs. Other teams have caught on to those plays. Why doesn't he throw over the middle more at the intermediate range, that play was there all night. I know we keep scoring 35+ per game but this offense could be a lot better than it is showing. I understand that we have great team speed but you need to mix it up more to keep defenses honest.

A number of intermediate throws were dropped today. The turnovers were obviously a problem but beyond that I think we have plenty of weapons! No need to move away from the screens with occasional deep thread + run option.

I do feel there was a portion in the game (quarters 2 and 3, before we took off at the end of the 3rd) where seemingly every play was a screen pass. For a moment I was wondering if we were back in 2013.

Amazing that we can score 42 against #11 run defense and still leave so many dammned points on the field. We SHOULD HAVE score 84 today

Amazing that we score 42 with a 0-4 turnover ratio, including a fumble inside the 5.

Definitely need to cut back on the number of screen plays we run. Way to reliant on them tonight.
