That being said, I simply don't see QF as an NFL quarterback, not even close.

BJD made NFL rosters for 2 or 3 years as a QB.  What did BJD accomplish at USF that QF isn't already doing.  It could be argued statistically that QF is a better QB than BJ was at USF...at least in the one year QF has played so far.

And as everyone sees every year, the NFL highly values statistical accomplishments over physical measurables and workout evaluations.

I think QF had a great year and will again this year but physically he does not have the arm or athleticism that BJ had. IMHO.

QF can throw the ball pretty darn deep and accurate. BJ could, too. They are both similar style QBs.

I think he would have gotten more of a shot than Tebow did.  Ward CHOSE not to commit to football and that's the biggest reason he didn't get drafted.

Charlie Ward made the right choice.  He made roughly $50mil in the NBA, would have likely bounced around like BJ Daniels in the NFL if he made it at all.  At that time in the NFL, QBs like Russell Wilson never had a chance.

I seem to remember reading him saying if he wasn't going to be a first rounder (which he thought he was based on that Heisman and all), not to bother because it was insulting to draft him lower and he'd go play basketball. Worked out for him, but still shows that being the best college football player, or having amazing college stats, doesn't mean much to the NFL.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
