Very few people gave Matt Grothe a chance.  "He's too small.  He can't throw.  Etc. Etc."  Yet he became a winner.  A leader.  And one of the best to play for USF.

I like/prefer guys like MG and QF.  People always labeling them before even seeing the real product.  I hope QF continues his success.

Unfortunately to know a player has great intangibles, you have to give them a shot in the game...a choice usually based on tangibles. Even when they get a shot (2014 QF @ SMU), it's hard to know whether they'll have the right stuff. We're geared more than ever to assess with stats before we invest in something, so I can't fault guys that resist wanting to put players in the game that don't meet the position's ideal image. But when the experiment shows the player can not only succeed but set records and facilitate others' records, I can't understand the thought that another guy looking better on paper should trump the proven product. We have our boy.

Go QF, Go Bulls!

If AW has a strong Spring and Summer, do you think CWT will give him a shot to start in the Fall?

Yes, I think that IF he had a strong Spring... oh wait... IF he has a strong Summer CWT will give him a chance to start in the Fall.

Absolutely, if he's better.

Wait I'm confused. Isn't Brett Kean the 2nd string QB?

Nuh-uh, that was just an anomaly. AW is clearly the best even though he continues to be repressed by the staff.

JTrue didn't ask about Kean.
