You hit it.  Never going to get 50k to watch the Tulsa and Tulame's of the world.

With as many graduates as we have in the area, we should be striving to hit 50k to watch USF wreck Tulsa and Tulane. We're not going anywhere if our fanbase continues to poo-poo the conference. We need peeps showing up and donating; even the dorks out East have us beat in the attendance/donor base metric.

While I see your point, there are several issues I have.  First, regardless of feasibility studies, most of the upper half of the AAC have an OCS.  Are we to believe that all of them are in a "better" financial position than us and that an OCS was "feasible"?  I find that hard to believe, especially when you look outside the AAC and power 5 at programs that found it "feasible" to build an OCS.

I do believe the iron was hot in the BE days.  However, many of us on the board and other places, felt like it was awesome to play in RayJay and perhaps felt like the BE money would always be there.  If we were going to build an OCS, that would have been the time.  We had money, attendance, and AQ conference "power 5" status.  Again, operating in hindsight is easy; but, if we would have known what was coming, I believe we would have had an OCS by now, feasibility be damned!

That being said, if UCF, Cincy, and Houston can have an OCS, I really don't want to hear all the silly reasons we can not.

USF is below conference average in donations

Are there any financial goals for new donors? Just saying "we need to increase" does seem very strategic. Are there any benchmark levels to aspire towards?

Gotta start by hitting our conference levels. And then working towards aspirant organizations.

The only sad thing I find about it is that it didn't used to be that way. We were equals with Pitt and WVU athletically (at least on paper), not aspiring to become them.

USF can't afford a stadium, has lower than conference average donations, low conference payout (compared to Big EAST),

and we add another deficit producing sport?

I am glad that Harlan announced plans for a feasibility study, instead of promising a multimillion dollar OCS.

Our regular donor base appears to be very low for a school as big as we are.  At least from what I have read.  We need to grow that base.  The donors I know are all doing the best they can.  We need to add to the roles.  Even if it's only like $100 bucks from each new donor, it would really change things.

My bash was there is no talk at USF Athletics or Alumni regarding an OCS.

USF Athletics : From the subject of this thread, maybe you didn't bother to check it out:

• Complete feasibility study to strategically analyze the benefits, associated costs, and potential funding plan
for an on-campus football stadium

Alumni: I'll go out on a limb and say that a goodly portion of the posters here wanting an OCS are Alumni.

I think bashing can be constructive when used appropriately and based on facts.

The vast majority of all college football programs have an ocs out of necessity .... and if we had struck when we supposedly had money, attendance and AQ conference, we'd be in foreclosure now.

And to be honest, I imagine we could have an OCS right now if one was really needed but it would be a piece of **** like BHNFP and our fans are more discriminating than Kanigit fans.
