Sounds like a friend of COA floating this one.

We could hire Pitino away from L'ville. There are so many quality coaches out there dying to come to USF that will turn us around in a year. Maybe that guy that led Manhattan to the Sweet 16 this year will come back now that he has his degree. I'm so excited at the chance of this happening.

It's pure silliness to imagine that a guy with a career record of 17-48 would get hired at a quality basketball school like Pittsburgh. Unfortunately we're stuck with him until he turns this program around or gets fired.

A Pitt grad, Calipari assistant, supposedly great recruiter is all that would probably really matter to Pitt people. Anybody with an ounce of hoops knowledge can look at what COA was dealing with here and overlook it if they really want to bring him home.

But I read in another thread that COA was a failed experiment. Why would they want that?
