I like Bulliet as well.  It is amazing how my tastes have expanded over the past 2 years.  Was really a Makers or Woodford guy.  But I enjoy a variety of profiles now.  Hated Knob Creek when I tried it years ago.  But someone brought it to the last tasting and I, if not loved it, appreciated it.

Can't go wrong with Maker's for the price point. If you can get a hold of the Christmas Special, give it a try, I enjoyed it. However, I have not seen it since I was stationed in KY.

Haven't had that one and don't know anything about it.  I'll do some research.  Just had Russell's Reserve 10 yr on the ECU trip.  Very nice.  

But you've all been invited to our tastings in years gone by when I put out an open invitation on here.  Hope to do it again in '16 but may have to have 2 or 3 smaller ones.  Last one was a bit large at 29 people.

I did the bourbon trail when I lived in KY. Since then have developed a little bias towards Maker's because it was my favorite spot on the tour. I freely admit it.

At BB's recommendation, I have a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch in my cupboard right now...not too bad at $31 here in tax-heavy NC.  And very much worth it for the price.  But Eagle Rare is still my favorite so far when I go to American whiskey.
