Four Roses SB is spot on, although I found the finish a bit bitter and less smooth than I'd like.  But then again I'm a highland single malt drinker first, so my palate is a bit wussified.  ;)   Eagle Rare has the bite and body with the smooth finish that's totally on point for me.  Need to keep trying new whiskies...

Wild Turkey is cheaper than Maker's and IMO better straight up than Maker's.

I don't drink Vodka but do have Tito's in the house as well as Espolon tequila.  Not a big fan of Buffalo Trace even though their distillery is now making many of the world's top notch bourbons.  Blanton's is made there and pretty sure they are now the Pappy producer.  There are others from there as well but my memory is failing me as I'm typing this.  Someone on here will know.

Since we are in Eastertide and it is the offseason, I thought i would perform this resurrection.

I've been to a few of Bourbon Bull's tastings and it has really helped me understand the nuances of a good bourbon.  However, I recently enjoyed a glass or Lock, Stock and Barrel Straight Rye and was very impressed.  Angel's Envy Rye is also excellent.

For bourbon, Maker's is always a go-to, but I also really enjoy the aforementioned Four Roses SB plus Old Forester Birthday Bourbon.  The oak-forward taste seems to be the common theme.

The inventory is now up to about 23 different bourbons at the house.  Running out of room.  Had one of the overworked guys from the Bulls Club over last night to do a little tasting. Broke out some good stuff, Elmer T Lee, The 2014 Birthday Old Forrester, Weller 12 and Heaven Hill Select.  Was talking with the owner of a local liquor store where I found the Elmer T Lee and realized that I rarely drink my good stuff.  So thought a Thursday night was reason to celebrate.

I used to drink a lot of Heaven Hill bourbon.  I don't think you can find it in liquor stores anymore...I must have drank it all up.

You may be right. Can't find it on their site.  Looks like Evan Williams or, maybe Old Fitzgerald, is their rot gut brand now.  They make tons of different whiskeys there.  One that I've tried but don't have is Larceny.  Very nice.  http://heavenhill.com/brands

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
