It sounds like Taggart is putting the team's lack of success on player attitude toward each other, at least some of it. I think his trying to fit square pegs into round holes has a lot to do with it. His abandoning his offense being a sign that he finally figured it out. http://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/wku/taggart-continues-to-track-doughty-wku-s-success/article_1c046a9a-962f-5bb5-9c15-ae42e1b88c9e.html

Another one of those "making a mountain out of a molehill" moments on the TBP. Blaming the team's lack of success on player's feelings toward one another is lame and insulting. Saying WKU players care more about each other than Bull's players is insulting too. Does he really believe that or was blowing smoke, I don't know. But if he's going to talk about it going slower than he thought it would he needs to man up and shoulder that responsibility like he did after that first loss year one. 1

This is not surprising to hear, especially as most of the Holtz stay overs have cycled off the roster. Is it really blaming someone if you're telling the truth? During our best years the team would run through a brick wall for each other and the coaches, it's a big part of the reason why we could punch above our weightclass and scored many of the upsets we did. If a team doesn't believe in each other and want to fight for the guy next to them they're not going to be very successful. I think he is trying to convey the team cohesion he is seeing and comparing it to another of his teams. This isn't blame. It takes a while to really build a culture which is why I hope he stays and has a good year.

When he said this at the rally, I didn't get the sense that he was trying to blame anyone. Only that this season's team has something that was lacking before.
