Critical evaluation of our alma mater's highly paid athletic leaders who aren't ALUMNI and care only for their hefty checks

Every job has a way of sucking you into the culture, all the more if you're leading. I'm okay with it as long as you don't tell me they graduated from UCiF.

What difference does it make if they are alumni? I don't see the point of this thread. There is no correlation between athletic success and alumni administrators.

At USF we have both, USF grads who are high up in Athletics doing great, like Scott Glaser comes to mind. And many who have adopted USF as their school, like Barry Clements and Jim Louk.

So far I am impressed with the results under Harlan, no complaints here.

The biggest difference is when a non grad gets to a point where it is time to move on, they move to the next school, where I found a different (non - athletics) job at USF.

By the way, most people in college athletics aren't there for their checks, most are pretty talented people who can make more money outside of college athletics than inside, and they are there because they love what they do.

My thought is that it would be ridiculous to assume a graduate of the school can necessarily do a better job.  Lee Roy Selmon made greater strides with athletics in a shorter amount of time than anyone at the school ever has and likely ever will.  Last I checked he wasn't a graduate of USF.

In fact, one could argue that hiring people that have connections at other schools is more important than hiring a USF graduate when it comes to advancing USF athletics.

I'm sure.

Will those qualified actually post in this thread?  Exceedingly unlikely.

Pathetic.  The oversized elephant in the room still can't even be seen by most.  We're doomed.  I'll pop in again midseason when that elephant has been dropped like a full colostomy bag.

P.S. You all belong on the short bus with said elephant.
