Doubts about Antigua!

I was not enthusiastic about the hiring of Orlando Antigua. As we are headed to another loss (now 7-17), my doubts are growing.

 

His recruiting is not all that impressive so far either.

Lets see what happens in year 3. This year was almost a complete turnover of the roster. Next year we will see a lot of new and young players as well.

I still think there are a bunch of wins this year.

By this time next year we should start to see what we have in Antigua. Then we can judge during his 3rd year. Until then its too hard to have any understanding.

Not sure what anyone could have really done with the mass exodus after Heath. Maybe if we got Billy Donovan to step in, we could have salvaged this season, but if you were expecting results significantly better than what we got this year, then you should have a talk with my 4 year old. Your patience levels would be equivalent.

The talent coming in next year is (on paper) more than I can remember over the past 15 years. Not sure what you're looking at.

I feel a lot better about COA than CWT. If hoops had the recruiting success of pigskin we would be fighting for a Conf title.

Really? This thread is ridiculous. We have a busted Lego team that is super young and we have no bench. we should give him at least one more season before breaking out the pitchforks and torches.

As I posted in another thread, Coach Antigua came to USF this year with just three returning Bulls, which means you are not going to have the cohesiveness necessary to win this year.  Hopefully, with the class coming in, and the team returning more players the men will be more competitive.

Started by someone with 11 posts. That last 4 or 5 games have been competitive.  Played Cinci tough without Morillo (illness) and Guerrero was in foul trouble in first half.  You can see improvement even though it isn't resulting in wins.  This guy will coach 'em up. 

 

Edit: Even Cousins and Holston Jr. made contributions tonight.  That shows progress.

I haven't seen anything that concerns me. We are as good as I expected this year, kids are trying, but we are playing against teams with more talent.
