We can probably trust him to do what is best for the team. So are you saying playing your 2 best players for every second of a 19 point victory is good for the player and tge team? He's saying he trust's Coach Fernandez' opinion over message board posters, on what's best for the team. Which I completely agree with

You need to put these teams away when you're in a hunt for a spot in the tournament. Coaches and players do not want to be snubbed this season because of a few extra mins of playing time to ensure their dominating win. You should watch closely when Coach tries to take Courtney out of a game. She doesn't like it one bit. If the girls want to play, let them play. It's not about who's winning anymore to the committees, it's about who's winning convincingly. The coaches know it, the players know it. Courtney is capable of playing a full game and is just as likely to be injured in minute 1 as in minute 40. Trust in Jose.

This is very true I remember when they removed margin of victory from the BCS calculations to promote sportsmanship. This year, when I happened to listen to the ESPN Playoff show, they were basing many of the ranking positions on how much they blew out previous games. They chatted how one team shouldn't be ranked 4th (don't remember exactly which positionit was, but was near the top...) because they had only won the previous game by 10 pts. Margins of victory are "back" (...well, it really never left in BB...) since rankings are based on human polling.

It is a joy to watch this team. Yes, we aren't on the level of UConn but this is a very talented team. And unlike most USF sports teams I show up at games expecting them to win. Had no doubt walking into the building that we were going to win. And to the argument about pulling the starters, after seeing Courtney in there with 4 minutes to go holding her shoulder you just had the feeling that he was concerned about point differential. And, as BA said, we live in an era where that stuff matters.

Go get em ladies. Bulls up 7 w/6 minutes to play in half one. As puzzling as it is frustrating; I know it's women's basketball, but it's the most consistently winning team on campus; with 3K students on campus, there is no excuse to see less than 50 students in the student section. This team has a legitimate shot at a tourney run, and it's the same 750 people and a few local high school teams in attendance every game. Athletics and SG should get together for the UCF game, and market the hell out of it; free pizza, prizes, make it an event. It worked for the WNIT Semi-Final

Today's attendance was 1,400 and change, so I was exaggerating how small the attendance was; but it's still 1,000 people away from the average attendance of the 50th most-attended women's basketball team last year: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/w_basketball_RB/reports/Attend/14att.pdf Schools like James Madison and Old Dominion regularly pull in >2,500 people. And we can't blame athletics; IMHO they've done a great job of treating this team like the men's, with the pre-game introductions and HOT Rumble band and promotions, but there's a missing piece that needs to be found.
