we are probably using it to offset ~$50 million dollars+ difference of TV deal revenue we would have had between the AAC TV deal and what an old Big East deal would've been worth.  not to mention the loss of ticket sales, etc because no one wants to see the teams we play now.

Read somewhere today that we have the 2nd highest assistant's salary pool in the conference.

Seems like we are spending the money. Time for that to translate on the field.

There should be more transparency around these funds. I don't believe the $25MM - $33MM was paid in one shot and is spread out. Regardless I'd like to see a P&L of the athletic department to include these funds.

I don't have a lot of faith that these dollars are being spent wisely. I agree with the original poster that the influx of cash could have been used to significantly upgrade the football coaching staff, which if invested properly could pay for itself and then some if the program turns it around.

 

Pretty sure you can find the athletic budget somewhere - maybe a year or two behind - but thought they were available.  I have no reason to doubt that the money is being used to pay for legit Athletic Dept expenses.
