Go figure, I check in on the UH visitor thread and everyone's talking about their fave food joints. We're nothing if not predictable, although the third page is void of any Publix references--they don't have those in TX, you know... :GoBulls:

so should he go for the sub or fried chicken? :D

All very good suggestions thanks guys!

I found a cheap ticket for the Lightning game, which I probably wouldnt have even thought of (live nhl is awesome but I dont live in a town with a team).

You will be pleasantly surprised how well received and supported hockey is in this area. The gameday experience and atmosphere are pretty top notch and it doesn't hurt that the team is fun to watch (even when they're not good, they're a good time - wish USF was like that).

My sentiments exactly....................bad, boring college football for four straight years has me nearly down for the count.

Hey Bulls fans I want to preface my post by saying I default to rooting for you guys if you aren't playing Houston. That isn't just visiting fan butt kissing, I hate UCF (beer throwing, self important mickey mouse scum) and all the other Florida colleges. I feel like both our schools are in cities that don't appreciate them as much as they deserve. Also our chancellor (who I mostly approve of) came from USF.

So I am going to be at Raymond James on Saturday to watch the Coogs and Bulls. I work and go to school full time but I have started doing one annual random semi UH related road trip to a city I have never seen. This year Tampa was the best fit on my schedule (last year I did Louisville).

I have done a nominal amount of Tampa/USF research but what should I do in 2 days in Tampa besides the game? I figured you guys would be the best place to start.

Thanks for the kind words!! Nice cool weather today for the game! Hope you have a great time!

I have to say the beaches around the Tampa Bay area are some of the most beautiful I have seen and i miss them :/

I would suggest all of the following in no particular order: Fort Desoto (St Pete), Anna Maria (Bradenton), Siesta Key (Sarasota), Clearwater Beach, John's Pass/St. Pete Beach.

Also the fishing, kayaking, and mountain biking are great due to the excellent parks and rec depts. You would think MB in FL would be non-existant but in fact it's great!

Second the Ft. Desoto beach. Very nice park and beach.

Is Lido Beach in Sarasota still topless?

Some good suggestions guys! TacoSon had one of the better Tortas Ive ever had (and Houston has tons of good mexican for comparison). Also the 3 Daughters microbrewery in St Pete had an amazing IPA.

As a follow up does anyone know a good place where todays early CFB games would be on that isnt super far from Raymond James?

I don't believe so, but I still prefer Lido to Siesta Key...not as crowded.
