USF just needs to win. The rest of the conference, be damned. :FIREdevil::stirpot:

Anyone who bought in or believed the AAC's commissioner when he said we are a power conference or whatever nonsense he said was kidding themselves. Our conference is downright terrible and will continue to be even after we've turned it around.

AAC is DOA.  Everything about it is contrived garbage.

USF should consider independence

USF should consider independence

When actual attendance against Maryland is hovering around 18-19K fans, I'm thinking independence isn't all that viable. Let's step back from that ledge, mmkay? :soapbox:

Agreed, very small sample. Very promising for us in conference though. We need to focus on us more than the conference right now.

Reallllllly small sample size here.

2-12, go ahead a let me know when the sample is big enough for you.

The AAC was not really in a position to succeed OOC this year against P5 opponents. I don't see any Wake Forest, Boston College, Northwestern, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas, etc. The weakest P5 team the AAC has played was Vanderbilt and Temple crushed them. P5 opponents + BYU that the AAC have played have been some of the better P5 teams in the country. Combined records of those opponents excluding the games against AAC competition is 38-6. 9 of the opponents were ranked when they played, and Penn State, Georgia Tech, NC State and Duke are just outside the top 25 (each are now 4-0). Most of the games were away from home. The AAC is the 6th best conference, but outside of the top several teams in each conference there isn't a big drop off. Half the teams in the AAC would beat the low level P5 teams. The same isn't true for CUSA or Sunbelt.

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
