We need to consistently get 4-5 teams into the tourney.

We need to consistently get 6 teams into bowls.

This means some teams need to loase so others can win. We need great OOC victories but we also need some AAC bottom feeders.

This also means when we schedule subpar OOC games so we can get wins to go to bowl games, people need not to ***** cause though playing Alabama and others would be fun we prob have less than a 10% chance of winning, so people need to decide would you rather play a big time programs get your ass blown out of the stadium or play a MAC school win and go to a bowl game......

If I'm paying for tickets, I'd rather get blown out, than to play in some garbage bowl game against the #3 team in the Mac or Sunbelt.   BTW with USF's scheduling formula A MAC team wouldn't be replacing Bama on the schedule.  We should be able to win 6 games in conference and become bowl eligible!

+1

Looking more forward to the roadie in Wisconsin than any bowl game we could posibly get with the exception of maybe a top 10 team. Even then I would rather experience the atmosphere in Madison than sit in a completely foreign sterile stadium in glendale against a mildly interesting opponent like baylor.

roadies at fsu, auburn, notre dame, etc have been far better than any bowl game we've played in to date.

BTW these bowl payouts are way overinflated. they make teams payout ridiculous amounts for sponsor hotel stays, tickets, etc.

True, but we won those games. That's part of what makes them so special. Would they have been as much fun if we fielded, say, last year's team in those games? It'd probably be as fun as the Louisville or Miami game last year. The only time those were fun was the team intro, kickoff, and then when we were making the few good plays that the team mustered. How fun would those have been on the road? If, after the pomp and circumstance of the War Eagle or Chief Osceola was over, USF went down 0-28 after the first quarter without crossing the 50 yd line, you'd be having a bad time.

I question the "I don't care if we get blown out, I want 'Bama logic." I want to play the big boys, too. I think we should schedule them every chance we get. But I also expect that we field a competitive team against them. THAT'S what makes it fun. We don't have to win. Playing Oregon or Florida until the half before getting blown out is one thing. We lost but it was fun to a degree because we thought we had a chance, we fought them tough, and we were able to enjoy ourselves somewhat. But getting steamrolled from kickoff to victory formation is not fun no matter who you play. That's not a football roadtrip, it's just an expensive weekend massacre followed by a long drive/flight home trying to avoid the Sportscenter 'highlights.'

I want USF to win and even though it doesn't prove much, I have fun watching my team blow out another one.

Would be nice to look up all the teams in the AAC. Make them sign their life away. Grow the AAC.

You want to be a big boy, you gotta put on your big boy pants a play the big boys

Does you no good to play them if you are going to get steam rolled by them, like it or not the reality is in the next 1-3 yrs we are not going to have the athletes to compete, i am not saying schedule MAC schools 5 yrs down the road from now, but though they won't be exciting playing them the next 1-3 yrs so we got a shot at winning and going to a bowl is better for the long-term.

If expansion every occurs again they will look back and say 2014 USF went 7-5 and won a bowl  2015 USF went 8-4 and won a bowl etc> they won't look back and say USF went 7-5 or 8-4 etc> and played schools A, B, C, D……I want it more than anyone and put my money where my mouth is but you gotta be realistic.

Going 5-7, 4-8 etc with loses against SEC school does you absolutely no good, we aren't going to run the AAC table (athletes just aren't there yet) so you need some OOC games to get you W's and confidence.

EVERY big boy started off in diapers.

I would much rather the comments be, "USF was too good of a team to be playing so-and-so in this bowl game. They need to be in better bowls"

instead of the comments being, "USF had no business playing so-and-so in this bowl game. They don't need to be playing in these bowls."

Most boys don't go from diapers to underwear and regress back to diapers and we most certainly did

Agree, but the fact is, we're there. We're not the first team to have to rebuild. Won't be the last.

My point is playing big time schools (in the next 1-3 yrs) isn't going to make your team better, getting wins and going to bowl games is going to make your program better in the long run….
