Did I take the bait? Thanks to CSH for his efforts as well, but CJL is hands down the most successful coach this athletic department as seen. From zero to #2. 5 straight bowls. 6 straight with his recruits. Didn't want to hijack the thread, but come on. Stan had one good year in a down BE season. Did we even have any NIT invites during his tenure? 1 NIT 1 NCAA Tourney (2 wins) That 2012 USF Mens Basketball team was by far the most successful USF Team. Maybe best Coach is debatable. I think both are close. 2012 Softball was more successful However, the enthusiasm of that 2011-2012 MBB season was awesome. It showed everyone that it can be done here and for that we owe Coach Heath so much. Not many people care about Softball. That NCAAT run brought much more attention to the University than Softball. Even if we did make the College WS.

Every dog gets a bone once in a while. He happened to get one in 7 years. He coached in the Nations Best conference at the time. ( had the attention of the nation ) all he had to do was finish in the Top half of the conference Standings( BE got like 8 bids that year I believe), Lets not proclaim Stan as some Miracle worker, He had ONE LUCKY SEASON he couldn't reproduce and has since been fired. Women's BB is more successful and on a more regular basis. Our Women have only lost to 2 teams since Dec of last year (#1 and # 5 in the nation). They are playing Lights out. That's how you keep a job and perform. Stan should had taken note from Fernandez. Had he done so , he might still be employed here at USF. I know we made the CWS in Softball. Very nice accomplishment but nobody really cares.

The guy can not coach end of story. He has proven this to be true year after year. He had one good run and that is it. Exactly, and our "run" wasn't any huge miracle. We beat a average Cal team by 2, blew out a crappy Temple team (same team now in our crappy conference) and lost to the only team we were favored to beat... Ohio. Leaving all else aside we beat Cal by 11. And it was never that close. We held them to 13 points in the first half and had a 23 point lead (36-13). Been tryin to get that through their thick skulls that the AAC is a FN tough conference top to bottom. But they insist on believing in what they read or hear from the media. I love it!!!! I will make money off those clowns.

It wasn't luck. The incoming coach owes him alot for the talented players he will have. I hope the new coach takes advantage.

A crappy Temple team that was a 5 seed in the NCAAT. You sir are a moron. LOL ... people who keep trying to downplay what we did accomplish that season are indeed college basketball illiterates.
