Would like to USF focus on more important things than the superficial, like the product on the field and smart marketing. While new uniforms could in some way be considered marketing, its a peripheral objective.

Yes, because USF Equipment staff is usually out on the field coaching and in the office marketing... Uniforms have nothing to do with performance/marketing/education. If the equipment staff wants to be creative, let them be.

I like them, USF seems to do a pretty good job with helmet designs and the kids seem to like them too...so keep it up!
