Bobby Eveld will make a great qb coach one day.

Coach Eveld: "Right when the ball is snapped, run to the sideline. I don't care if nobody is coming, run to the sideline and throw the ball away!!"

Coach Floyd: "I like my QB's to eat buttered popcorn before every snap."

Either one..."ok, guys, let me see your happy feet!" "HAPPIER!!" "okay, now just fall down."

No, actually I think Eveld did a great job from the sidelines this year calling in plays & supporting.

Why in the hell would we bring one of Wulff's old guys in as a QB coach? The guy would have no idea what's going on with our offense. Wulff's NOT CALLING THE PLAYS or running his own offense. Why is this so hard for everyone to understand

i didn't say it. Just posting the links for Grothe for a GA. Which happened to have some possible position coach news. I was thinking the same thing that Wulff ran a air raid type system at WSU

Oh I wasn't ranting at you, just in general. People don't seem to understand that Wulff was brought here to coach the O Line and we gave him the OC tag to pay him more money and lure him away from the 49ers. He will not call his own plays, he will not install "his" old offense from Wazzu.

And Danm, I can see what you mean...I just really hope we hire someone who knows the offense and knows where these QBs need to be getting the ball. If you don't know the offensive scheme, how can you teach it to the QB's? Your basic check downs and throwing mechanics are one thing...I just don't want any more "learning the offense" going on next year with our returning guys. We have had an entire year under this offense. It's time to start "knowing".

Lots of great coaches were mediocre at best players. The mental aptitude doesn't always translate to the physical side and vice versa. There are really great players that would make terrible coaches.

I agree, and sometimes there are great players who make great coaches too. And of course there's the issue of what measuring stick you're using to define "great". That's why blanket absolute statements are just silly to make.

Would that be __all__ blanket statements?? :D:roflmao:

No exceptions! :lmao:

Absolutely true.

The line seems short for QB coaches. Willie is probably having trouble recruiting anyone with talent because he wants to run the show on offense. Probably going to be a young buck that he tricks into the position. I am surprised he convinced a former D1 head coach and assistant on the 49ers to coach the offensive line at USF. Probably was an easy decision based on money.
