A few stats from the article:

Setting 18 new offensive school records under first-year head coach Bobby Petrino.

All-American candidate Antonio Andrews led the nation in all-purpose yardage for the second consecutive season as the only player in the nation to average over 200 all-purpose yards per game. Andrews was also the nation's No. 4 rusher and just the 11th player in FBS history to rush for 1,700 yards in consecutive seasons as he broke his own school record this year, tallying 1,730 yards on the ground.

Andrews set six records in all this season including: single-season rushing yards (1,730), single-season 100-yard rushing games (11), career 100-yard rushing games (21), consecutive 100-yard rushing games (11), single-game touchdowns (five) and career 200-yard rushing games (five).

Quarterback Brandon Doughty also set the single-season passing yards mark, meaning the Hilltoppers were the only team in the nation to set both the single-season passing and rushing records in the same season. Doughty also set the school record for single-season completion percentage (65.8), single-game completions (29) and single-game passing yards (387).

Offensively, the Tops set eight total records including: total yards (5,502), total yards per game (458.5), average yards per play (6.3), average yards per carry (5.0), rushing yards per game (196.8), passing yards per game (261.7), passing first downs (141) and completion percentage (65.3).

He will be given another chance at a better program, just a matter of time.

Good performance = money, and unfortunately that trumps all else.

The offense that Tags wants to run is a Rose Bowl-worthy offense.

The players Tags recruited are setting records.

The guy came here to rebuild, not reload. We all hate 2-10 but it's not from incompetence, lack of care, lack of effort, etc. It's a product of breaking down and rebuilding into a power house.

My apologies, Petrino runs a modified Pro Style offense. Which isn't much different from a Power O in terms of the type of personnel needed and difficulty of playcalling.

But a Spread offense personnel is vastly different from that of a Power O.

You might see more of Petrino's style injected into WKU next year and the year after, if he's still there. Which begs the statement that if Petrino isn't forcing his system in, why did Taggart? And why didn't Taggart keep some of the Holtz system so the offensive production didn't hit a brick wall and learning curve? The answer is because Taggart's has to be installed because it is a much harder transition than going from power O back to Petrino's pro spread whatever it is. Also, because Holtz's system wasn't working, so go ahead and change it now. Taggart's system was, so why break it when you can slowly work it in.

Petrino knows he's not going to be at WKU for long.  So, he's not going to try and revamp a system in place built with a solid foundation.

USF currently has no foundation on offense.  It was and has been for a long time, primarily just an athletic QB making things happen.  All the way back to Jim Leavitt and Matt Grothe.  Skip tried to make a system, but it failed by forcing BJ to pocket pass.  Then it compounded further by failing in recruiting.  Sure he won  some battles, but we need 11 guys that deserve to be starters on the field on offense, not 3 or 6.

Good synopsis.
