"Florida and Florida State are closely matched when it comes to the state's college sports loyalties with the Gators edging the Seminoles 24/22. Miami is third at 12%, followed by Central Florida with 9%, and South Florida, Florida Atlantic, and Florida International all registering at 2%.That's a pretty big drop for USF from 2011 when we found them at 8% statewide support, while everyone else is within a couple points of where they were then."

I guess having some awful seasons really hurt us.

last time i checked, if they're wearing a USF shirt and/or buying a game ticket then they aren't doing that for another team.  like it or not, we benefit from those fans.

Can we coin the term "the skip Holtz effect".

A year and a half of bad football wipes out 75% of your "fan" base?? That is pathetic ....

I've always thought we've had a fickle fan base. This isn't that surprising.

What's interesting is that they say we dropped from 8% in 2011 when they polled but it doesn't look the colleges were even included then .... unless there was another poll.

And if you look at the breakdown by age groups, it's not surprising the "I want it now generation" is the one with the worst results ... but that breakdown also shows how the youth of a football program affects the fan base. The age of a program DOES matter ...
