Utilize different computers, IPads, phones, etc. and you'll be able to get around the pay to read non-sense (it's site wide - not just for Bulls information - it just happened to time up with Greg's departure to his new beat). Either way, the viewership has decreased dramatically and instituting the changes during a horrendous season only further cripples their efforts to remain profitable. Just my two cents.

LOL!  I had a thread on this about a week ago.

Someone here suggested I use Google "Incognito" to hide my computer's identity.  It worked.  Didn't have any issues after that.

Funny thing is...I went back to "not using" Google Incognito and it has been allowing me to view the site, so I'm not sure why that is.  I just recently cleaned out my hard drive of cookies, history, etc. so maybe the site is recognizing my computer as a new viewer??  I don't know.

But you should be good using Google Incognito.

Sucks for the new guy. They're not even given him a chance to build a base of readers.

Readership certainly hasn't decreased dramatically. I understand you guys are used to getting the Times for free, so there's a decision to be made. I'm very careful with how I spend my money as well. I think you'll find -- whether by reading it or looking elsewhere -- that the Times has the best USF coverage you'll find anywhere on any site. There's a commitment in terms of the volume of coverage, the consistent travel, the depth of reporting. I think Joey's hit the ground running and will do a great job. You guys can reach me at auman@tampabay.com if you have any questions.

The Times is a world class paper IMO, if their business model warrants a paywall to keep the quality of the content, its probably worth it.  There arent many products worth getting nickled and dimed for, but for me this is certainly one of them.

Then stick to Fox News.

For those that prefer facts:

The Tampa Bay Times is not only Florida's biggest newspaper, but for the past three decades, the locally owned, independent daily has also been ranked among the Top 10 newspapers in the country. Its outstanding journalism has captured prestigious national awards, including nine Pulitzer Prizes and numerous top honors from the most respected institutions that recognize excellence in the field of professional journalism.

Greg, I appreciate everything you have done for the Bulls beat. With saying that you have built up a reputation that needs time to develop with Joey. Its unfortunate the timing of the change is not good. I am a bulls fan for life but you were the reason that I came to the website and not the other way around.  I certainly did not go to TBO.com.  I wish Joey the best. I already know you are going to do well with the Bucs. The are lucky to have you and I am excited to see you getting your shot at the big time because you have earned it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
