A great pro career is nice, but it's how well he can coach that matters.   George O'Leary didn't letter in football in college, but his college coaching record is better than average.

I think Coach Strickland will do a great job of recruiting and teaching these kids what to do and not to do on/off the court.

Based on what??

Based on what he thinks. Kinda like you think GOL is something more than the rollercoaster ride his record tends to show. His last couple of years have been good, but maybe you should have used another coaching example. ;)

O'Leery's record is better than that of all USF head football coaches combined.  I didn't say his record was great, just better than average.

What is O'Leary's W-L record at UCF?  Leavitt's?

Oooops.  Didn't read ahead.  Leavitt 62.5%; GOL 58%?

When they faced each other, Leavitt owned O'Leary.  Don't hang Holtz's cratering of our program on Leavitt.

O'Leary gets credit for building UCF, with only a few recruiting violations and killing only one player.

O'Leary is 0-4 vs Leavitt.  That stat speaks volumes. If Leavitt lets UCF pass us up while he was still the USF coach then the joke would be on him. But that never happened while he was at the helm.
