Ok. Why did my post get moved/removed?

Because you're a troll .... The New Improved Dumbgeon

Dude, I'm a UCF fan true, but I'm not a troll. USF fans/people post on the UCF boards all of the time and we don't mind. Neither do we live in a pretend bubble. Show me one post where I've trolled on here.

Whether an overtly antagonist remark or a subtle one like your previous post here, it's a troll-worthy removal. Besides, it's our site...dude.

Fine, if you can't handle harmless replies from other teams fans, I'll refrain from chiming in. That's pretty weak though. I'm out.

If I thought it was harmless and the thread had anything to do with UCF, it would probably have stayed there, like other posts on that forum. We are fine at handling replies of any kind from other teams' fans. We have at least two other boards for that, but the Main Forum is primarily for Bulls, with our own homegrown trolls. Check out The American Board for plenty of interaction ... if you aren't pouting.

Pretty much every post, including at least one thread you started, have been trolling post. I'll give you some props for subtlety, but some of the more astute of us saw what you were up to.

Like Trip said, you can troll all you want on the American board, just not on our main board.

New on-campus stadiums aren't free...but most of the big buck donors/friends of the Univ, etc....all seem to want to pitch in to get UH a new on-campus stadium...as they had to replace their 60 year old HS stadium (yes, it was initially built to host HS Football games), and almost all of their alumni didn't want the team to play permanently at the NFL Stadium (Reliant, which is an amazing facility), located just over 5 miles away from their campus.

Alumni/sponsors seem to open up their wallets when new on-campus facilities are built.

So that's why all UCF could build was it's el' cheapo Wok!  UCifer's opened their wallets and not much came out.

What a shock...Triple B deleted/moved my post to educate the above poster.

FYI...In addition to building an on-campus stadium, UCF became the first Univ in over 70 years to build an on-campus stadium AND an on-campus arena at the very same time.

Arena opened up on Sept 9, 2007 and Stadium opened up on Sept 15, 2007.

Point being...UCF needed to budget funds to have both projects completed on-time and on budget...as both facilities were desperately needed...and UCF did it without one dime of BCS $$.

And ... congrats to Craig. I left USF before he got there, but I have chatted with him a couple times. I grew up in Boca Raton and always followed FAU (they were about 3 miles from my childhood home).

I can say this, FAU had a new president, and the president let Craig go to bring in their own hire as AD. I think he did a great job of growing that school's department. He also gets credit for building the best football stadium in Florida of the recent past (their stadium is head and shoulders over FIU and a step above UCF's in my opinion).

He was fired because FAU's $70 Million Stadium was drawing crowds approx just 4,000 fans per game at the end of YEAR 1 of the stadium.

FAU is losing their shirts...and most put the blame on Angelos.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/college/fau-fires-ad-craig-angelos-who-had-a-hand-in-sha-1/nLhqm/

FAU was expecting a huge spike in attendance with the opening of the stadium but it was unable to sell out the Oct. 15 inaugural game. As the team lost games, attendance started to dwindle and fewer than 4,000 showed up for the final game of the season. The team finished 1-11.

-----------------

Terrible fundraising reason by Angelos was one of several reasons why he was fired at FAU:

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/college/fau-president-fired-ad-craig-angelos-because-of-fu/nN3F3/

Then add in Angelos choice to replace Howard as HC (Pelini) spent  more time doing drugs in the Keys than trying to coach his team up.

There is almost no way Angelos will ever be considered for the AD job at any reputable Univ now. (#2 position might be fine)

ECU has sold out all its Bus trips for the game. (don't forget that Greenville is a drivable distance from St Pete). Expect ECU to have 15k there, (thru School ticket sales and thru Secondary sites like Stubhub).

You were only off by 11,000-12,000 or so...as the Dome was a ghost town for that game.

If 15K ECU fans came into town, where did 11,000-12,000 or so go when the game was going on?

Dome looked like a good Rays game crowd (appox 9,000-11,000 or so in stands)

I wouldn't expect a 1-11 FAU team to draw more than 4k. And it's easy to say that the guy you just fired wasn't great at stuff like marketing when he's not your guy.

A lot of the criticism sounds like the stuff we hear and say about Doug - take that for what it is. You can't really blame him for Carl Pelini's issues, though. It sure looked like a good hire this year until he got caught.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
