Nope... And if he is as good as it appears there has to be something holding back schools from offering... Grades? Something just seems fishy with this one

He passed for 7 TDs tonight.

Elijah Ironside turned Friday’s homecoming into a night the Hillgrove community may never forget.

The Hawks’ senior quarterback threw for a school-record seven touchdowns and completed 24 of 36 passes for 395 yards to lead sixth-ranked Hillgrove to a 63-28 win over Campbell at Cobb Energy/Hillgrove Stadium Friday.

Ironside had touchdown passes to four different receivers, including Omar Black, who had four TDs among his six catches for 115 yards. Justin Denton caught five passes for 97 yards and a score, while Richard Hallman hauled in four receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Bowens also connected with Ironside for a score.

Ironside’s seven touchdown passes was one off the county record set by Lassiter’s Hutson Mason in 2009. The state record of nine was established in 1962.

Gotta say I put a bit more faith in the assessment of the recruiting staffs of every D-1 school in  the country over some home town writer at the esteemed Marietta Daily Journal.

What in that write up was wrong or speculation? Would the recruiting staff at USF not count some those TDs? I don't get what you don't trust.

How do you know? Are you on staff? There are a lot of good QBs in the metro Atlanta area right now, which may have something to do with it too.

His dad is the coach so I would expect he is lining everything up for him so that he doesn't have anything like grades holding him back. He was at a different school last year and took them into the playoffs.

well, as of the beginning of the month, he hadn't gotten a single offer according to his father. Just odd that there is no news as of yet.

“We haven’t gotten anything,†said his father, Hillgrove coach Phil Ironside. “Quarterback’s a funny position. But I’m sure we can find him a college home if that’s what he wants to do.â€

Im obviously speculating but there are other QBs on our board and I find it extremely odd this kid has not 1 offer.

The stats are impressive but the highlight film is definitely not.

You would? Do you know the story of Colin Kaepernick? His brother sent a highlight DVD to every D1 school. None even showed up to watch him play. He had numerous honors playing football in California like conference MVP, playoff wins, etc.. Then, an assistant coach saw him dominate a basketball game while he was sick and told the HC at Nevada about him. That is how he got to play football in D1, otherwise he wouldn't have played and most likely wouldn't be the starter for the 49ers. D1 scouts miss talented players all the time. The number of NFL palyers from lower tier schools is a testimony to it. http://glitternight.com/2012/05/04/40-naia-d2-and-d3-college-football-players-to-the-nfl-for-2012/
