According to a practice report by bulls247.com floyd fumbled a snap again in practice today.

It may have just been one, but that was during a practice. Just imagine how its going to be during a game. Especially in east lansing.

My hope that it was an aberration. Let's see how he does on Saturday, if he takes those snaps correctly he ought to be okay.

Really my only hope is fumbles lead to the bench. If they occur. Don't want the QB Treated any differently, because it seems like this staff will sit a player fumbles the ball. QB is slightly different, but unforced fumble or 2, sit him.

That is my nightmare scenario for Saturday. Floyd fumbles a couple snaps early, we are losing and the fans start going off because Floyd gets kept in the game. Hard for him to keep confidence at that point. And while the fans would be a little out of line booing, it would be expected given the atrocities that we saw last year.

Really is a shame that the main concern quarterback is about him taking a snap, the single simplest thing he does. I trust it is fixed or Coach T wouldn't have him on the field though. But as far as nightmare scenarios go, him kicking the ball around the field would be some bad déjà vu.

The team elected him a captain, reinforcing that praise. For the first time in his USF career, Floyd will be taking the field with a coach that believes in him. That alone won't make him a better player, but it sure can't hurt.

That is a fair assessment. It would be more accurate if it were "we haven't seen much upside."

...or even more accurately, "we haven't seen ANYthing this year yet." So we just don't know until it shakes out on the field. But we do have the two "upsides" of CWT's choice (he's a QB), and the team's choice. Why not trust it until you have a reason not to?

Just going by what we've all seen, does not inspire confidence. You still have to consider that those choices Coach T and Teammates may have been by default. It is what it is.

 

I'm not saying another word about Floyd until I see him play this year and certainly hope he can erase the impression that was put in our heads last year (whether it was entirely his fault or had to do with the previous regime).
