@gregauman: USF coach Willie Taggart has made his decision: Sophomore Matt Floyd will start at quarterback for the Bulls in next week's season opener.

We have to trust that CWT saw something in him.  I've said several times, if they are even you start the one that will be here next year.

I just hope it's not the lesser of four evils.

I think a lot were hoping Bench would save the day, but he didn't seem to make the leap many hoped (it seems).  Could be his ankle still bugs him, or CWT told him he'd need to be a clear winner to replace the incumbents, and he hasn't.

Ideally, Floyd works out the kinks v McNeese, exits after 2.5 quarters, with a fat lead, and Eveld or Bench get some quality time (unless CWT looks to RS Bench).

Floyd has the talent and is a solid QB, i just hope he corrected his mistakes with the snaps. As long as Bench is #2 QB and keeps pushing him all year, I think we should be ok.

i like it, was hoping Bench would be savior like everyone else but Floyd is more of a playmker than Eveld

I think Bench is equally as talented as Floyd, if not more, but he just doesn't have the offense down as well as the other two. Hopefully he continues to progress and maybe down the line this year if Floyd struggles, Bench can take over.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
