My Canes bud says we got Holston (at least got him to cancel his UM trip) because...

Then must of the "us crowd" would be WRONG. I thought it helped as well but in the end it did not matter.

 The hurricanes want to believe that, and will try to convince others without knowledge that was the reason Holston committed to USF.

Holston's mother helped seal the deal for USF and as he said, he's very close to his family and friends. USF 20 minutes or less away for the people that always watch his games in high school. Troy didn't want to lose that support even in the slightest.

 

Trust me, Miami would take Holston in a heartbeat if he still considered them today.

Sorry for the bad link.  The guy my friend was referring to was JaQuan Newton, a 4 star SG from Philly, who committed Wednesday.  Don't really care, and Vega is likely a lot closer to the details, but I'm glad we got him. Reviews are excellent.

Newton coming to Miami to play PG. He has been making the switch from the SG position this summer. He's pretty talented without a doubt.

 

USF offered Michigan Hurricanes Guard Darrell Davis yesterday. Like Newton he is listed as a 6-4 SG, but wherever he goes, he will play PG. ISU, MSU, and USF all have told him that, plus he wants to play that position too.

I don't know if this is old news or not but Rivals updated their class for 2014 and Holston checked in at #136 for the 150!
