  1. Anything is possible but this is not happening. FSU is just too talented to get an upset...
  2. I agree. I do not understand how anyone can entirely blame CWT for the awful players that Holtz had recruited. Our line on both sides of the ball were bad. Real bad. We cannot recruit the type of kids who can immediately start from day one without redshirting on the offensive or defensive line. There is only a handful of kids in the entire country who really can contribute on the o-line and there are a few more that can on the d-line but they are normally top 100 recruits. Lets put it this way, Bill Belichick wouldn't have been able to coach this same team last year to 6 wins. There's hope, but we're realistically 2 years away of being competitive. Hell IMG might have a better team than us with Malik Henry under center for them next year. This team was not talentless last year. This team had plenty of talent to be better than they were. Bill Belichick wouldn't have coached this team to a win when we forced 6 turnovers against Maryland at home? He wouldn't of put a game plan together to beat a mediocre ucf team at home? I'm not saying that Taggart walked into a good situation. I'm not saying Taggart should've won 8 games last year. all I'm saying is Taggart has shown absolutely, positively, NOTHING other than recruiting (the man can recruit there is no denying that) to make our fans think he's the man for the job. This is now year 3. As far as I am concerned the Holtz talk should be over. The first two years are whatever, he was not going to get fired unless we went 0-12 last year. We play in the AAC. If we aren't near the top of the AAC and bowl bound in year 3 under this guy see you later it's no one's fault but his. I understand what you're saying and I agree with not being bowl bound it is his fault because he will have his first group as upperclassmen. I think Belichick could scheme all he wanted to but he wouldn't have the right personnel here to be successful. Remember, Belichick had a losing record as a HC with the Browns and wasn't successful until Brady came along. The Seahawks finished below .500 the year before they drafted Wilson and they still had a pretty stout defense. Our QB position is a mess and hopefully Flowers will be more successful in a spread offense and show improvement after being on campus after a year. Also, what killed USF this year was the number of drops the receiving corps had. I bet we would have won more games and put more points on the board if our offense didn't single handily shoot themselves in the foot every time we started to get a little bit of momentum and start putting together a decent drive. We literally couldn't afford to pass on 3rd and 4 because there was no confidence that our guys could make a play. I agree that the turnovers against Maryland was inexcusable and I cannot back up CWT on that but I can also say that our own personnel killed us because of ability alone. I really hope that Bethel and Gibbons can start right away for us next on the o-line. I hope the tandem of Adams/Bronson/Baxter/McCants can catch the ball. As for the defense... well I just hope our new coordinator can teach better technique and take better angles and help improve the LB and DB's. We had a lot of young guys on that side of the ball and I hope we can find some guys who can make "splash" plays for the defense. CWT cleared house on his defensive staff and if there isn't much improvement then I do believe he deserves a lot of blame. Our Schedule will be very difficult next year and it's unfortunate we didn't draw Tulane or Tulsa. If we win 4 games next year I'd still consider that a success but we could potentially win 6 if our defense can somehow show improvement and put the offense is good field position.

  4. Overachieved? I like Jim Leavitt just as much as the next guy, but Bowman, Willis, Smith and company are arguably the best LB corps in the NFL... For what it is worth, Bowman was out the entire year from the injury he sustained in the NFC Championship game last year. Patrick Willis missed 10 games and Aldon Smith was suspended for 9 games. Rookies Chris Borland and Aaron Lynch played well this season. So well they aren't in the playoffs and their HC lost his job at the end of the season. Their defense was decimated by injuries and Kaepernick had not thrown a TD in the 4th quarter all year...
  5. Didn't mean to ruffle people's feathers. How about this? I wish Pat Julmiste was our QB again.
  6. I know we've never won a conference championship, but we used to be known as a "giant killer" and more well known programs used to fear playing us. I don't think we have that perception anymore. I think it goes to show you how important the QB position really is in football... it baffles my mind that in the state of Florida we cannot recruit a kid to come play under center. If any one knows anything about football you know that you have to win at the line of scrimmage. Our O Line is soft and D line cannot get pressure on the QB. Sorry, end rant. I just miss miss watching a fun team.
  7. Alll big 12 fan are calling for adding memphis/ucf/byu... ouch.
  8. Maryland We cause 6 turnovers and didn't win the game... we haven't played a complete game this season.
  9. Legitimate question. Does our secondary actually know how to cover? I'm baffled.
  10. I would love if we could get 3 QB's in one class... better odds of one of them panning out. If one has to transfer down the road so be it.
  11. In recruiting, ok. Two more wins and CSH has more wins than CWT has ever achieved. And 59 points? That's an entire season of CWT to do that on offense. Well we still have CSH O-line and we still have CSH WR's (Davis and Welch) and I don't think I need to say anything else after that.
  12. Those students should be ashamed. (choosing to attend another instate game over attending and rooting for their own school) (Personal feeling here). They are most likely never going to be USF fans. (mind boggling to me) Cant be because they thought UF would win, Even Their die hard fans are calling for Muschamp's head because UF has been stinking it up and no one thought they would win. Question to them, Why didn't they choose to attend UF instead of USF? Ugh they couldn't get in... And Georgia/Florida game is one of the craziest tailgates that takes place all year.
  13. How no one said MacDinton's on South Howard is beyond me... Check out South Howard after the game tonight. The best looking girls/ best bars in Tampa.
  14. I know it's easy to blame the coordinator... but we have a starting CB who was previously a WR his entire collegiate career... I think that shows you more about the type of personnel the team is putting on the field. With that being said, I am very excited about the freshman that are on the 2 deep and think with one more recruiting class we'll be very competitive in the AAC.
  15. To win on the road, a 11 AM kickoff no less, is a great win for any team. And if it weren't for that awful pick 6 in the 1st quarter it would have been a 2 touchdown win! We showed heart to come back and win and i think that is the most important thing we saw today... the team didn't give up when their backs were against the wall!
  16. The only reason why Texas is coming here because Charlie Strong wants to recruit the Florida boys
  17. I blame Welch for not coming up with the catch to extend our drive for that blocked kick
  18. Lol @ Andre Davis, Rodney Adams, and Sean Price not being "any good" and Obama/CWT being our savior. You're aware that CWT has more wins than Obama, right? Didn't say that Obama was our savior, just said everyone expected him to make "changes" overnight that were unrealistic. What has Sean Price and Rodney Adams done to be labeled as "good."
  19. How many players played in the game that were recruited by Holtz? There are plenty of players that are leftover from the Holtz era and everyone on this board admits that there were a lot of lackluster recruits. Look, this team was awful with probably one of the worst offensive lines and QB's that were in the FBS. ***Newsflash*** these guys are still playing! This team is realistically 2 years away from being good, and I think that should give CWT enough time for us to fairly evaluate him. We complain about the defense being soft? Well no s#!%! They are the same guys that were on that god forsaken awful I don't even know what to call it of a unit last year. I think we'll see more freshman play as the year goes on, but lets be real on a few things: Our QB completed 9 passes on Western Carolina (pathetic), our receivers probably didn't help because they're really not good either. Both of our O and D line are bad (doesn't really get any push or apply pressure) so that affects the rest of our defense. I could go on and on but I think it's unrealistic to think that there will be much of a turn around from last year. Skip Holtz left USF football in the same state as George W left our country. Whether you think Obama has done a good job or not as our President, he realistically wasn't going to be able to make a dramatic turnaround for our country like CWT won't be able to overnight for our football team. I hope I don't get banned from the board for that analogy... lol.
  20. Always fun to just hear everyone's opinion
  21. Why? Because we've never won a conference championship, we're not known for sending O-lineman to the NFL, we are still relatively new and don't have tradition like FSU, Michigan, etc, and believe it or not but when these kids parents were in college they probably grew up FSU UF and UM fans since USF didn't have a team while they were young. It'll take time!
