TAMPA -- Terrence Mitchell, a former Freshman All-America who was USF's No. 2 receiver in 2012 before being suspended this spring, is expected to transfer and finish his college career at Division II Fort Hays State in Kansas.

Mitchell, a coveted recruit when he graduated from Hillsborough High, caught 31 passes for 414 yards for the Bulls last fall, but it's unclear what role he might have had under new coach Willie Taggart. Mitchell was suspended indefinitely from the team in March after an arrest on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana; Taggart said he had planned to shift Mitchell to cornerback before the suspension.

Mitchell, 22, will have two years of eligibility at Fort Hays, which has seen several Tampa-area players transfer in from major colleges. Former South Carolina receiver O.J. Murdock and former USF receiver Ed Alcin finished their careers there, and former Hillsborough and New Mexico State quarterback Tarean Austin was Fort Hays' starting quarterback last season. Fort Hays also has a graduate transfer coming in this fall in former Palmetto and Florida defensive end Kedric Johnson, who had nine tackles in his Gators career. â€¦

Said this on another site. I don't believe Taggart would suspend him without good reason. I suppose that's what he gets.

Good luck, TRex!  Always a joy to watch the passion you brought to the field.

Hate to hear this, but hopefully some good can come out of it for him.

I've never seen a coaching staff handle a kid's development as poorly as T-Rex's case

Wow.

T-Rex had to suffer for the lack of coaching ability. Sad.

Good luck, Mr. Mitchell, and remember, the degree is more important than the game. Get that degreee first, and then go get yerself into the NFL!

Go Bulls!

Agreed. Total waste of a career.
