The AAC - consisting primarily of CUSA huddled masses of refugees - is not, and should not ever again be confused with the old Big East. That ship has sailed. While the BE tournament made sense for MSG, the conference no longer has the 'urban, north east, hoop-centric' flavor of the Big East. Southern Methodist...Tulane...Cincinnati...East Carolina. Is there no venue within the southern/eastern seaboard more inviting than the gym - oooops, sorry - the venue where some other school plays? Looking at that map, Memphis or somewhere in NC would be central. This conference is now heavy in barbecue. Then again...maybe the powers that be already know that the tournament is not going to fill a venue over 8K, so why play in some cavernous - but vacant - haunt? Or, just make it as pleasant as can be....Vegas. Yeah, Vegas.

Try sitting in a Beecher seat for more than one game. Try parking in the Penn area. This is terrible.

The whole concept bothers me anyway because you can see all the empty seats at the NCAA tournament games and it looks awfull. I have always thought that at some point in a game you just go open seating and if someone shows up with the ticket fine then you move but otherwise let folks sit where they want. Just stupid to make someone sit high in the second or third level when you have 3 thousand empty seats by the court.

And USF, UCF, SMU, Tulane, ECU and Tulsa scream something else in basketball.

I wonder who outside of ESPN is working his strings.
