NCAA paid Shapiro's lawyers to depose witnesses? Talk about conflict of interest. Not a conflict. It was with Shapiro's blessing. It just violates NCAA policy which precludes subpoena power by using a bankruptcy court for the subpoena's. Shapiro's attorney isn't in hot water over this. They were doing a great job controlling the damage with the voluntary bans, and then they made the mistake of attacking the NCAA over the handling of the investigation (not disputing that the NCAA screwed up). They could have and should have handled it better.

No conflict of interest there.

Walk away unscathed? No way Miami walks away? They havent gone unscathed or walked away from anything. They've already sat out 3 postseason games. Some of you act like nothing has or will happen when it comes to punishment. It's not Miami's fault the NCAA dragged their feet for 2+ years and allowed Miami to do unprecedent self imposing.
