Just heard it from a friend who's father is on the AD for football at USF. Skip will be handing his papers in tonight after the Pitt game.

If he resigns he will forfeit his contract and not receive any more money. Why not wait to get fired and receive the $2.5M buyout? The only way he resigns is if he is pursing another job.

Exactly.

Holtz will not resign unless he has another job offer.

Can't believe you guys believe this.

Do you honestly think I'm just pulling this out of my butt? I want an apology from EACH and EVERY one of you who are calling this BS when you see that I'm right.

True or false, you need to apologize to Mr Moran ...

Another believable headline is

Judy Genshaft institutes mandatory gay marriage at USF. Holtz and Woolard will tie the knot after the USF vs. Pittsburg game.

See? Making up ridiculous headlines is fun. :GoBulls::roflmao:

He's always been a stand up guy... Why not be known as a "stand up coach who just didn't get it done at USF (for whatever reason) rather than the man who set USF Football back 8-10 years.

Again...how often does that happen? In the real world.

Actually... It happens quite a bit.

So which coaches stepped down in the past year with a buyout?

Tressel resigned at Ohio State and likely received a settlement.

Having him resign would make one to believe that USF has a coach in mind. One that won't go to one of the what, 8-9 BCS HC openings. That is going to be fun to watch.

Maybe going back to Kinnan at Manatee .... He's probably the next in line after those openings are filled.

BTW, who is Mr. Moran as related to USF?

Well I would hope the next coach just needs the papers signed. If this is true a lengthy "search" will be killer recruiting wise.

But no don't believe this for a second.

If it happens (I doub Holtz is fired) the last thing we need to do is rush this search. Recruiting this year is not that great anyways and we have half a class left to fill up. Get the best guy we can not the one we can get quickest.

Thank you for sharing Hem. Whether true or not, i'm in support of providing information this way. Everyone here bleeds green and gold and it's good that we have boards like this to share major news and information. People here do a good job of inquirying about sources.

I believe it. It makes sense.

a) Skip comes out looking like a classy guy.

B) USF comes off as a good employer

c) Skip get's a negotiated buyout

d) USF gets a neg. buyout

e) Skip gets to go where he can learn some more coaching skills with a minor blip on his resume, probably already knows where.

f) USF either starts, continues or completes search looking like an 1-A employer.
