Whoopdee f*ckin do. He's got a scapegoat and gets a clean slate. The problems run so much deeper than that. It will buy him time but who has confidence in his ability hire somebody and right this ship? He's in over his head. it's holtz scheme. cosh runs it. he coaches not to lose. that's why we play prevent on 3rd and longs and end of game. he never gambles. never brings pressure in key situations. there is a reason our secondary looks so bad and it' s because we expect them to cover for 6+ seconds while our d line gets no pressure. if you can't get there with 4 then bring 5 or 6. give him 2 seconds . not 6 to let a deep out develop 2 or 3 times on last drive. disgusting. we dont play prevent because we're afraid of losing, WE DON'T HAVE THE TALENT IN THE SECONDARY TO RUN ANYTHING ELSE! Our corners f'n suck (outside of Webster) and our safeties are young and getting terrible coaching. I promise you if we had two guys like Jenkins and Trae on this team we wouldn't be playing this **** style defense. We have no lockdown guys or pure man coverage guys. They get exposed too easily and we are forced to play a lot of zone. More pressure on the QB will help, but we still have a horrible secondary. sorry but the best cure for a bad secondary is pressure on the QB. give him 2 to 3 seconds. not 6 or 7. we hang our corners out to dry. 2 20 yard out routes in last drive. QB had literally 6 seconds for play to develop and we still didn't pressure him. that's coaching. it's why coaches call blitzes and stunts. otherwise just send 11 guys out there, rush 4 and tell the rest to play off their guys and to play zone. which is essentially what we do.we had the same problem last year. snyder did start playing more aggressive on obvious passing situations(3rd and long, last 5 minutes) and our D played better. you don't need NFL lockdown corenrs to have a good defensive scheme. Not even worth watching. If we win a game, then I'll watch. Edited October 28, 2012 by Gismo

We always give them a 10 or more yard cushion. I understand that they dont have confidence in the corners but they are playing too soft. Also in the final drive of the game , We needed to keep everything in front of us and in the field of play, yet we allowed them to run out of bounds or get a first down on every completion. You have to make them stay in bounds. Coaching set us up to fail, NO EXCUSES. Offense did enough to win. Kicking did enough to win, Special teams for the most part did enough to win, DEFENSE and the DEFENSIVE CORD did not.

Leading most of the game and to lose it at the end by one point is just terrible. It was homecoming. Welcome back alumni to this crushing and horrific loss. Couldn't agree more. Imagine the feeling of the alumni who haven't really followed or watched the team in the past couple years to show up and see what we put out there last night. I don't care who you are, a secondary will have trouble covering for 7 and 8 seconds. someone is bound to come free.

So we'll demand his termination on an Internet message board. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. Anytime you here, "So an so quarterback......WITH TIIMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You knowed the secondary is effed. Louisville watching that game and listening last 5 minutes on the radio I heard that against our D way too much.
