"I'm speachless on this one" first words from Skip Holtz at press conference.

Bulls247 â€@Bulls247

Holtz says you are not supposed to run for 370 yards and lose, but when you play that type of pass defense, it will happen.

Bulls247 â€@Bulls247

Holtz says they can't stand status quo. Not sure if he's talking about player personnel or coaches.

Bulls247 â€@Bulls247

Holtz not happy about the defense, especially pass defense. He says he has an obligation to find an answer.

Dave Weekley â€@weekley

"I take a huge part of the responsibility." -- Skip Holtz. An amazing statement right there. #USF

trying coaching to win. go for first down instead of settling for 47 FG at end and the game is iced if we make it.

pressure QB on last drive instead of rushing 4 and letting QB have 6 seconds for deep outs to develop.

don't know what happened on time out but for god's sake there was 6 seconds left on a running clock and they had no time outs. why the hell are you rushing to stop the clock?

he must have had a hell of a halftime speech. we came out fired up in 2nd half.

Easy answer Skip.

1. Fire Cosh.

2. Go to one of the many High School powerhouses in Florida and hire an up and coming guy as a replacement.

3. Let him ride out the year.

4. If it works out, keep him. If not, hire somebody more high profile.

That will be $200,000 for this plan please.

So basically he did not take ANY blame at all for the loss again... just cryptic "I don't know what happened" crap.

He needs to accept blame for hiring an inept DC, and then MAYBE he might be able to get some respect back from the fans. Cosh needs to be gone tomorrow if not tonight... Finch is doing his job, its Cosh that is the problem on this team.

Fire Cosh and then look for a replacement... one of the assistant DC's can coach just as good as Cosh until we can find a replacement.

Holtz takes all the responsibility. He is the head coach!

If I wake up tomorrow, late mind you after a bender tonight, and Cosh is reportedly fired, it's the only way I'll have some faith restored in Holtz.

Holtz is a tool. Imagine how much better (!!) Lamar would be if he weren't wasted at WR all those years. Or, how much better our secondary could be if TRex developed as a CB. Instead, we made incredibly shortsighted moves to fill in gaps at WR where we're now stacked, and missing starting caliber players at the positions they were taken from. Yay!

Pathetic. This loss was horrible. Leading most of the game and to lose it at the end by one point is just terrible.

This is the first time Holtz has really emphasized "changes" after a loss. I get the feeling he was talking about coaching.
