Let's see: 1) Non existent pass rush 2) Giving up 3rd and long too easy 3) DB's playing too soft

It's a good thing we have a deep roster of LB's/DE's to coach up. Oh wait, there's a complete dearth of talent after Forte and Co leaves? Have the ther team tire themselves it with third down conversion after third down conversion in the first 3 quarters and allow us to mount the 4th quarter comeback. Our defense is good Not sure what aspect of our D is "good" right now. They're too soft. I believe it has to do with the offensive system we run. The offense is some version of the spread....not sure even what to call it. So our defense never practices against a smash mouth NFL style offense, like Rutgers, Pitt, Ucon, Miami of years past, etc. In practice they never learn to be physical, instead we rely on our speed, and we don't have enough talent to overcome it. When we play teams like this we always struggle. CJL teams were more physical because they played with passion, albeit some times very undisclipined. This defense plays like its coach, soft and conservative. Holtz needs to get some coaches in here from the NFL to learn how to be more physical. Maybe he can get Coach Leavitt who is coaching the very physical SF 49s LBs

The main difference between a SEC team and Big East team is the depth on one or both sides of the ball... SEC has it and Big East teams don't.
