Saw this story on SI.com. I think it's a pretty good idea if he'd be interested. He'd be a high-profile guy that would help our conference gain respect from the commissioner's seat. It wouldn't matter that he's a basketball guy when he sits down with the other commissioners as long as he's business savvy. Anyone know who the leading candidates are at the moment?

I agree. I would prefer a more football oriented and experienced commish.

Take that 40 million or so we got from Pitt, Cuse, TCU and WVU and offer someone like Slive from the SEC or another SEC guy. Give him 3- 5 million a year. We can secure him at least 10 years without spending any money.

This will stablize the conference, help with TV negoataions and give us a seat at the Big Boy table.

At this point, does it even matter who the commissioner is?

With the reputation that this conference has gained, I think that the only solution is for the teams that have a ton of potential (e.g. USF) to finally live up to that potential.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
